Can Any Ceiling Be Starscaped?
A
Yes. Using a patented process, our artist will install a permanent Starcaped Illusion on any ceiling you choose. Flat, of course is the most ideal type of ceiling to paint on!
Slightly textured ceilings are very good too. Popcorn type ceilings are more difficult and time consuming to do but is possible, however, with a popcorn ceiling, certain elements of a Starscaped Celestial Ceiling mural may not be feasible such as shooting stars or any theme where a stencil may be required. Vaulted ceilings where it goes up to an angle is workable and will take more time and if a larger ladder is required on our part (may incur extra costs as well). Usually bedrooms will not have vaulted ceilings but some do enjoy a Starscaped Ceiling in their living room or entertainment room where vaulted ceilings are more typically seen! Beamed ceilings are OK as long as the protruding beamed areas can be painted upon or if the beamed area is along the edge of a ceiling where it may be left out all together as it will not detract from the overall beauty of your new painting. Remember... This is Not a cheap stencil! You receive an accurate 3-dimensional painting of the nighttime sky with thousands of stars, shooting stars, and even the Milky Way Galaxy. How Long Do The Stars Glow?

All night long. When we say "Sleep Under The Stars" we mean it! You will enjoy thousands of relaxing, softly glowing, stress relieving, romantic, beautiful stars all night long. They even seem to twinkle! And... if you ask "How Long Will My Starscaped Ceiling Last? For as long as you want to enjoy it. A Starscaped Ceiling will last forever. You can paint over it if you want, or you can move away, but otherwise you will have your beautiful Starscaped Ceiling for as long as you own your home.

Will I See The Stars During The Day?

The painting is invisible during the day... so it won't interfere with ANY decorating scheme. Just like the real stars, they only come out at night. Then... the results are astonishing!

How Long Does It Take To Paint A Starscaped Ceiling?
A
It really depends on the size of your room, but a typical 12' x 12' (144 square feet) room will take about 3 hours from start to finish. Time factor also depends upon the Themes you are getting for your ceiling mural. The bigger the room, the longer it will take. The more complex the theme, the longer it will also take. The kind of ceiling texture you have will play a role in the time frame for the completion of your ceiling mural. Heavy texture ceilings and deluxe themes will require at least double the estimated time stated above. Also... painting a Starscaped Skylight will usually take less time to complete than a fully Starscaped Ceiling.

Do You Accept Credit Cards As Payment?

Yes we accept "ALL" major credit cards. Other methods of payment include Cash, Check (personal, business, cashier, bank, certified), Money Order, and in some instances, Exchange of Service. In fact... we have even been known to set up personal payment plans for families because we truly feel everyone should be able to enjoy these beautiful works of art.

How Much Does It Cost?

You might think "Owning the Universe" would be expensive, but it's not. It actually costs less than most of the other treatments in the room. It's a lot less than a professional paint job. Costs vary with the size and height of the room, though, so call us for an estimate. We'll make sure you get the best deal we can offer. The installer will measure the room and make any adjustments to the estimate before beginning the installation.

Is My Celestial Ceiling Really Astronomically Accurate?

Our Starscaped Ceilings are designed to recreate a night sky that you would see from any prime veiwing location here on earth, with individual stars ranging from about -2 to the 5th magnitude (with -2 being the brightest and 5th magnitude being very hard to see).
It is nearly a planetarium quality experience. Major constellations are easily identifiable and the minor stars are more random.
Various price points represent different levels of detail, but all Night Sky Murals are a clear representation of actual stars. In fact, many astronomers have told us that they are amazed at how real our murals look. They say that, "it is amazing at how similar looking at our murals is like looking into the heavens."
And since our Celestial Ceiling is astronomically accurate, it makes an excellent learning tool. Kids and adults can learn together as they examine the night sky. Learning to locate and identify the constellations in the comfort of your own bedroom can translate to star gazing adventures in the outside world. Learn to read a star chart as you get to know your new Celestial Ceiling and you can take that skill outside on your next camping trip.

What About That Glow-In-The-Dark Paint I See In Stores Or Those Stick On Stars?

The difference between those products found in stores and the service we offer is astronomical. The professional grade phosphorescent pigments used in our paints glow at least 10 times brighter and longer than mass produced paints you will find at "ANY" retail stores. If you want to see something close to what we do, go outside on a clear, dark moonless night during a power failure. Seriously, the luminous substance in most off-the-shelf products lasts for just a few minutes and loses its brilliance over time. The stick up dots or stars are big and cartoonish. It's just not that easy to make something astronomically accurate, either. There is REALLY no comparison to what we do and our stars will glow (and EVEN seem to twinkle) ALL Night Long! Our artists with their tools and "Special" paint, can accomplish the task in a few hours when it might take a novice literally days to achieve a lesser result. Just let us do the work, then lay back and enjoy it.

What Happens With The Ceiling Lamp Or Fan?

We don't remove them. When the room is dark, the lamp will not be noticed or in the way of the stars. Same with ceiling fans. They are not an obstacle. When the fan is on... It feels like an outdoor breeze. You also will not need to remove or cover up your furniture when we paint. There is no need to remove your furniture as long as there is enough room to maneuver a stepladder around. No room prep is necessary since the painting process with our equipment, methods, and techniques are not messy. For certain themes, a drop cloth may be used and we provide all of that.
